About the Mobility Advisory Committee
The aim of the Mobility Advisory Committee (MAC) is to advance the implementation of the adopted Sustainable Transportation Plan. The MAC will advise City Council and assist City Staff on issues relating to mobility and transportation on Bainbridge Island with a particular emphasis on non-motorized and shared mobility.
Coming soon...
Established on December 9, 2025, by Ordinance No. 2025-29.
The MAC represents an evolution of over a decade of City partnership with residents with the shared goal of improving the safety and enjoyment of walking and biking on the Island. The first of these partnerships was the Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Committee (NMTAC) which helped bring forth the creation of the Island-wide Transportation Plan which was adopted in 2017. The Committee was shortly thereafter renamed the Multimodal Transportation Advisory Committee (MTAC). This committee remained active through 2019.
The City began the planning process Sustainable Transportation Plan in 2020 and a Sustainable Transportation Taskforce was created to support this planning process. The Sustainable Transportation Plan was adopted in 2022.
Following the adoption of the Sustainable Transportation Plan, mobility advocates called for the MTAC to be re-instated to support the implementation of the STP. In late 2025, City Council approved the creation of the Mobility Advisory Committee.
