Civil Service Commission
Oversees fair and competitive hiring and promotion processes for the Bainbridge Island Police Department, adopts and enforces civil service rules, and hears appeals related to testing and employee discipline. 

Climate Change Advisory Committee
Advises City Council and staff on climate policy, planning, and implementation, helping guide efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to climate impacts, and engage the community in achieving the city’s Climate Action Plan goals. 

Cultural Funding Advisory Task Force
Develops funding recommendations for consideration by the City Council. 

Design Review Board
Advises the City on site plans, design reviews, and related permits, ensuring projects align with City design guidelines. 

Environmental Technical Advisory Committee
Provides expert scientific guidance to the City on environmental management, habitat protection, and critical areas, helping ensure city policies and decisions are based on the best available science.

Ethics Board
Oversees the City Code of Conduct and Ethics Program, providing training, advisory opinions, and reviews of alleged violations to promote integrity and accountability among City Council members and city committee participants. 

Historic Preservation Commission
Promotes the protection of the City’s historic and cultural resources. These efforts include maintaining local historic inventories and registers, reviewing preservation-related permits, and advising on nominations to local, state, and national historic registers. 

Human Services Funding Advisory Task Force
Advises the City Council by reviewing proposals and recommending how city funds should be allocated to support local human services programs and priorities.

LEOFF 1 Disability Board
Administers retirement benefits for members of the State LEOFF 1 retirement system. 

Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
Reviews and provides recommendations on how the City should allocate lodging tax funds to support tourism promotion and tourism-related facilities.

Mobility Advisory Committee
Advises City Council and assists City Staff on issues relating to mobility and transportation on Bainbridge Island with a particular emphasis on non-motorized and shared mobility (i.e. walking, biking, transit, rideshare).

Planning Commission
Advises the City Council on legislative and quasi-judicial matters, with a primary focus on preparing, reviewing, and updating the city’s Comprehensive Plan, while reflecting diverse community perspectives.

Public Access Television Advisory Committee
Advises local government leaders on promoting and improving the use of the Public Access Television system in the Bremerton and Kitsap County area. 

Race Equity Advisory Committee
Advises the City Council on programmatic, community, and legislative options to address and rectify systemic and structural racism and bias within local government and law enforcement.

Salary Commission
Reviews and recommends compensation for City Council members and the mayor, considering local salary history, comparisons with other cities, and cost-of-living adjustments.

Utility Advisory Committee
Advises the City Council on policies, rates, planning, and management of the city’s water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater utilities.
