Residential permit info & forms
Please note: Since Governor Inslee's Stay Home, Stay Safe Order,
we are only accepting electronic documents.
Planning and Community Development (PCD) now requires appointments for consultations and submittal of building and land use permits.
Planners and inspectors can continue to be reached by email and phone (see staff directory).
Building inspections can be scheduled by calling 206-780-3789.
Residential Permit Process
In order to help our customers with the permitting process, the Building Division has created checklists and informational forms and brochures which clearly explain the requirements to apply for a permit. Please note that work within a critical area or shoreline may require additional land use permits. Please contact the Planning Division at 206-780-3770.
If you are proposing only mechanical or plumbing work, submit an application via the Online Permit Portal if a permit is required.
Any driveway or road approach work proposed adjacent to a public street or right of way requires application for a Right of Way permit with Public Works Department. Please refer to Public Works front counter at Bainbridge Island City Hall, 280 Madison Avenue, Bainbridge Island WA, or Public Works Right of Way Use website.
If you still have questions, give us a call at 206-780-3796.
