Country Club Bulkhead Spot Repairs

Description

The project generally consists of the repair of the bulkhead wall, totaling approximately 220 linear feet, replacement and extension of stormwater culverts, and pavement and embankment restoration per the Army Corps of Engineers emergency permit.  At this time, there are no plans for permanent repairs and/or funding and the permitted work in 2021 are for spot repairs.

Partial Road Closure

Out of concerns for public safety, the Public Works staff implemented a partial closure of the westbound lane to traffic until a suitable repair can be implemented. The road closure was put in place in June 2020 and will remain in place until the bulkhead has been repaired. The road is currently closed down to one lane.

Status

On July 24, 2020, the Army Corps of Engineers authorized emergency spot repairs to six sections of the existing failed rock revetment totaling 290 linear feet.  The City completed emergency repairs in November 2021 to the portions of the failing revetment it was granted construction access to by adjacent property landowners.  Authorization of full repairs to the revetment is still pending permitting.
