Ericksen Avenue Sewer Slip Line Project

Ericksen Ave Capitol Improvement Sewer Slip Line Project

Project Overview

The Ericksen Avenue Sewer Slip Line project will rehabilitate the sewer line along Ericksen Avenue NE between Wyatt Way NE and Winslow Way E using cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) methods.  CIPP is a trenchless repair process in which a flexible liner is inserted into the existing pipe and allowed to harden.  This process creates a new pipe within the existing pipe that is free of cracks and root intrusion.

Project Status
This project was completed in 2025.

City Council approved a construction contract with Insituform Technologies, LLC, at their December 10, 2024, business meeting.

The project will take place in phases.  The first phase included cleaning and video inspection and was completed on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The initial lining phase was completed Monday-Wednesday, April 28-30, 2025.  Due to an unanticipated materials shortage, the contractor will return to complete the lining phase on Monday, May 19, 2025.

The lining phase will include temporary lane closures with flaggers on Ericksen Ave NE and Winslow Way E.  Expected work hours will be 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but hours may vary based on location.
