About Mayor Medina
Kol is a public servant who practices servant leadership. He is dedicated to strengthening the Bainbridge Island community. Since moving to Bainbridge Island in 2001, Kol has worked as the Executive Director of the West Sound Wildlife Shelter for nine years and served on the Boards of many BI nonprofits, including the Health, Housing, and Human Services Council, One Call for All, Association of Bainbridge Communities, and Community Energy Solutions.
Currently, Kol serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Kitsap Community Foundation, where he is a leader in our County’s philanthropic sector and civil society. Additionally, he is an attorney who provides legal services to nonprofits.
He is happily married to his wife of 27 years, has one child, one dog, one cat, and 14 chickens. His education includes two years in the Peace Corps (Guinea-Bissau), a J.D. from Stanford Law School, a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Carleton College, and an I.B. from Armand Hammer United World College.

OFFICE HOURS: Mayor Medina holds office hours at Town & Country, upstairs in the dining area each Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - noon, except for December 7 (find him at the League of Women Voters brunch panel in Bremerton), December 21 and 28.
