Did you know you can apply for a passport without leaving Bainbridge
Island? The Municipal Court began accepting
passport applications one year ago and would like to remind people this service
Passport services are available by appointment only on Wednesday through Friday from 8:20 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. Appointments for passport services can be made online by visiting the Passport Services section of the City website.
The standard processing time for receipt of a passport from
the time the application is mailed is currently
4-6 weeks, but people can expedite for a 2-3-week turnaround for an additional
Since July 2017, staff at Municipal Court has processed more
than 1,000 passport applications.
“We are pleased to offer passport services to the community.
People have been very happy with our personalized service and convenient online
appointment scheduling,” said Judge Sara McCulloch.
Please be sure to arrive on time and bring all required items to ensure a successful appointment:
-Completed application (typed or black ink)
-Proof of citizenship
-Passport & application fees (NO cash or card accepted - bring your checkbook)
-Driver’s license or government-issued photo ID and a photocopy of the front and back of that ID
-Proof of parental relationship (for applicants under 16 years old): both parents must be at the appointment with a child younger than 16, or a notarized Statement of Consent Form (DS-3053) is needed from the parent who is unable to appear
Additionally, many local businesses offer passport photos: Walgreens, Nick Felkey Photography, UPS Store and Ride Aid. People can also go to Walmart or Costco.
