The police station lobby is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you need to register an alarm, please do so by mail and enclose a check or money order payable to CoBI. If you would like to pay by credit card, call the station at 206-842-5211. We anticipate the police station will once again be open to the public in early May.
In response to the large number of business and residential false alarms every year and increasing demands for police service with finite resources, the Bainbridge Island City Council enacted False Alarm Ordinance 2003-05 in May, 2003. This ordinance established a fee schedule for false alarms and an alarm owner registration requirement. All property owners with burglary, robbery, or panic alarms installed at their premises are required to register their system.
The fees enacted by the ordinance are as follows (in dollars):
One Time Registration Fee: $50
Failure to Register an Alarm: Up to $250
First False Alarm: $No Charge
Second False Alarm: $50
Third False Alarm: $100
Fourth False Alarm: $250
All Subsequent False Alarms: $250
If you haven't registered your alarm system, please complete an Alarm Registration Form (PDF) and send it to us. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Please partner with us to reduce false alarms!
