Senior Community Center Renovations

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Senior Community Center building requires repairs to fix deficiencies in the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire control systems.

Additionally, Senior Center management requested changes to the layout of the building to improve accessibility and increase operational efficiency. 

The proposed renovations include demolition of select walls, doors, flooring, casework, fixtures, and fireplaces. Installation of new walls, doors, flooring, and fixtures; and modifications to the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.

STATUS

  • 7-26-2022 - City Council rejected bid from June 30, 2022 bid opening
  • Design and Permitting: May-December 2021
  • Construction: March-June 2022

BUDGET

The City’s Capital Improvement Plan includes $112K for design in 2021, and $386K for construction in 2021 (including staff project management costs).  The Bainbridge Island Senior Center is contributing $160K towards the project.
