Japanese American Exclusion Memorial (JAEM)/ Pritchard Park Outfall Relocation Project
(Formerly Nikkei Memorial Outfall Relocation project)
Description
The Pritchard Park Stormwater Outfall project generally consists of relocating a stormwater outfall diffusion structure, replacing the storm drain piping, and replanting landscaped areas. Work also includes installing a diffuser and a vegetation pad to reduce the impact of the outfall on the shore; installing a set of stairs adjacent to the outfall for beach access, and protecting trees in place surrounding the project site.
Activity
The project's bid opening was held on October 25th and the responsive apparent low bidder was awarded the contract at the November 8, 2022 council meeting. The city is working closely with the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Association (BIJAEMA) to limit impacts at the memorial site.
