APPOINTMENTS: Land Use Submittals, Preapplication Conference Requests, Consultations & Building Permit Submittals

Permit specialist, planners and building inspectors are available in-person for general questions, Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Staff is available by "appointment only" in the afternoon.  Permit submittal and consultation appointments can be made online for either am or pm appointments.  All other type of appointments must be made with the staff member directly.

Building Permits:     8 am – 12 pm & 1 pm - 3 pm Monday through Friday

Solar, Roofing, Plumbing and Mechanical permits may be applied for online. All other building permits are accepted by appointment. Walk-in permit submittals are still accepted between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Scheduled appointments take priority.

Land Use:     1 pm - 3 pm Tuesday & 9 am - 11 am Wednesday/Thursday

Appointments are required to submit for certain permit types. Contact pcd@bainbridgewa.gov if you are unsure of the land use permit required for your project.

Consultation:      8:30 am Monday/Wednesday/Friday

Meet with a city planner and a development engineer to discuss your project.  The purpose of the Consultation is to discuss in general terms project permit application questions. Staff will not prepare for the consultation nor will they produce any written or electronic documentation of the discussion. It is the applicant's responsibility to take notes. As no project permit application will have been submitted at the time of such a meeting, the city will not make any binding commitments. The Director is authorized to deduct the consultation fee from the official land use permit fee if a subsequent pre-application meeting or land use permit is applied for by the applicant within one year of a consultation meeting.  A fee of $180 will be due at the time of the meeting.
