The City of Bainbridge Island has been undertaking its Comprehensive Plan Update in accordance with the Washington State Growth Management Act (GMA) governed by RCW 36.70A. Comprehensive Plans establish the vision for how a community wishes to grow and the features it wishes to preserve for the next 20 years.

There have been  many opportunities to be involved throughout the process including Visioning and Element workshops, Planning Commission meetings and providing public comment.  We suggest you sign-up for emails to stay informed about Navigate Bainbridge.

The City Council has reviewed the Planning Commission's Recommended Draft Plan and is proposing some changes.  The City Council is holding a public hearing on its Draft Comprehensive Plan on January 10, 2017 at 7 p.m.  If you are unable to attend, comments may be submitted to the City Clerk via hand-delivery, first class mail or by e-mail (cityclerk@bainbridgewa.gov).  Written comments to the City Council must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in order to be considered.  Comments received after the deadline will not be considered.
